Brian J. Hosie, 61, of Rockford and Galena, IL, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025. A private family burial will take place later. The Furlong Funeral Chapel in Galena is assisting the family. He was born on January 24, 1964, in Chicago, IL, the son of John and Phyllis (Crall) Hosie. Brian attended elementary school in Chicago and completed his education at Galena High School. Throughout his life, he was actively involved in the Special Olympics, particularly enjoying the winter sporting events at Chestnut Mountain Resort, where he even had the honor of lighting the torch one year. Brian loved bowling and frequently went with his friends and family. He worked at the Galena Workshop and later at Milestone Industries in Rockford, IL, where he made many friends. Brian is survived by his sister, Kim (Michael) Kresol; his nieces, Rachel Kobischka and Rebecca (Adam) Vaiden; his nephew, Evan (Rachael) Reifsteck; seven great-nieces and nephews; and his housemates, Alan, Tom, Zack, and Davi
